Biomedical Engineering Research Laboratory Assistant- Per Diem

The position is for an undergraduate student in Biomedical Engineering to assist with studies investigating the use of optical imaging for the early detection, diagnosis and monitoring of lung disease. We seek a highly motivated and organized Research Laboratory Assistant to assist the Hariri lab with various projects, and will directly interact with research fellows, clinical research coordinators, research technicians, and collaborators. The optimal candidate has strong problem-solving skills, a background in biomedical engineering and Matlab, and is detail oriented with excellent technical, communication, and team skills. The individual in this position will be responsible for assisting with study data collection as well as data and statistical analysis, optical hardware and catheter development/modifications, machine learning models, and preparing IRB regulatory approvals.

This is a per diem position that is ideal for a senior undergraduate student interested in biomedical engineering, optical imaging, machine learning, medical statical analysis, and/or pulmonology.

Major job duties include:

• Assist with data collection and analysis.
• Image processing with Matlab and other tools.
• Statistical analysis using Python, R, Stata, and similar tools.
• Assist with optical hardware and catheter development/modifications
• Assist with the development and evaluation of machine learning models.
• Collect and organize subject participant data
• Assist with study regulatory and IRB submissions
• Perform administrative support duties as required
• Literature review

Qualifications

Individual must be:

- Highly motivated and organized

- Must be pursuing a Bachelors degree in Biomedical Engineering, or equivalent field, and in their final year of their degree.

- Experience with Matlab
