The Grishin lab is looking for an Assistant Professor, Research Track to maintain and develop the ECOD database, and to conduct evolutionary analysis of proteins and their domains. In particular, the successful candidate will conduct evolutionary analysis of the AlphaFold structure models, as well as proteins from humans and an array of best-studied organisms across all major phylogenetic lineages. Specific interest in identification of virulence factors in fast-evolving proteins is desirable.

The successful candidate must have, at a minimum, a Ph.D. degree in Biochemistry with emphasis on biomolecular structure and design, or related scientific field, with at least 6 years of experience. Experience in managing database projects is highly desired.

Appointment rank will be commensurate with academic accomplishments and experience. Consideration may be given to applicants seeking less than a full-time schedule.

This position is security-sensitive and subject to Texas Education Code 51.215, which authorizes UT Southwestern to obtain criminal history record information.
