Pay

This position is a non-exempt hourly position at pay grade 102.

Attendance:

Rotating 40-hour work week, Monday - Saturday. Must be available to work additional hours as needed.

Overview

Cleaning and maintenance of facility and equipment including restrooms, kitchen, and grounds in compliance with Health and Sanitation Standards.

Responsibilities

• Responsible for maintenance of the Senior & Recreation Centers to include: clean, sanitize, sweep, vacuum, mop, deodorize, dust, take out trash, wash windows, wash mirrors, move office furniture, replace light bulbs, strip wax and buff floors, maintain patio area, shrubs and flower beds, clean gutters

• Responsible for loading and unloading food carts and food pans; maintain kitchen in accordance with health and state sanitation standards

• Assist senior citizens with functional access limitations by delivering meals to their table, loading food bank groceries and escorting them to their vehicles

• Perform minor maintenance and building repairs including, but not limited to; light plumbing window and screen repairs replaces floor and ceiling tiles, painting (interior/exterior), power washing, weed eating repair tables and chairs, install shelves, replace air filters and base boards

• Will set up and tear down rooms as specified by rental contract or event design to include evenings and weekends

• Responsible for the operation and maintenance of equipment as well as responding to requests for supplies

• Will provide support in the absence of the Site Supervisor and/or Staff Assistance in answering telephones, and respond to customer requests as needed

• May be asked to perform other duties as assigned.

Certifications, Licenses, Other Requirements

• Food Handler's Permit to be obtained within 90 days

• First Aid/CPR/AED to be obtained within 90 days

Qualifications

• Requires High School Diploma/GED

• Minimum of 6 months - 1 year of experience

• A valid driver's license is required. Successful out of state candidates must be able to obtain a valid Texas driver's license within 90 days of hire

Basis of Rating

Application review and the City may also conduct additional skill assessment tests, in addition to the panel interview.
