The California Department of Insurance's (CDI) Enforcement Branch Headquarters, Business Services Unit has an opening for an energetic and quality focused team member with an aptitude for numbers and desire to predict the future while tracking the past. Under the direction of the Staff Services Manager I, or designee, the Budget Analyst is responsible for the reconciliation, projection, monitoring, and maintenance of the Enforcement Branch budget, expenditures and encumbrances. The Budget Analyst performs varied and complex technical analytical staff services work and provides consultative services to management or others. This entails annual budget processes, budget change proposal development, and management analysis related to administrative and legislative issues. The incumbent must establish and maintain cooperative working relationships with California Department of Insurance (CDI) staff and will serve as the Enforcement Branch liaison with internal and external state offices/agencies. Minimal travel is required within and/or outside the state of California via private or public transportation (i.e., automobile, airplane, etc.). Travel may include an overnight stay. Overtime may be required.

HYBRID TELEWORK:
This position is eligible for hybrid telework. The amount of telework is at the discretion of the Enforcement Branch and based on CDI's current telework policy. While CDI supports telework, in-person attendance will be required based on operational needs. Employees are expected to be able to report to work with minimal notification if an urgent need arises, as determined by the Department.
