The Development Manager is responsible for managing and implementing all aspects of the fundraising programs. They will oversee corporate relationships, grant writing and individual donor cultivation. This individual will report directly to the Executive Director and work closely with other team members to develop and execute fundraising strategies that align with the organization's mission. The Development Manager will be pivotal in securing and maintaining financial support to fulfill the organization's objectives, primarily focusing on managing a multi-million dollar budget.

RESPONSIBILITIES
  • Develop and maintain relationships with corporate sponsors, ensuring effective stewardship and timely reporting on their contributions.
  • Research, identify and cultivate new corporate partnerships and grant funding opportunities to support the organization's programs and initiatives.
  • Oversee the grant writing process, including prospect research, proposal development and grant reporting, ensuring timely submission of applications and reports.
  • Collaborate with program staff to gather information for grant proposals, ensuring accurate and compelling narratives that align with donor requirements.
  • Collaborate with the Events Director to help raise funds for our fundraising events.
  • Manage a portfolio of individual donors, creating and implementing cultivation and stewardship strategies to deepen engagement and increase giving levels.
  • Collaborate with the Executive Director and Board of Directors to develop and implement a comprehensive fundraising plan that aligns with the organization's strategic goals and financial needs.
  • Prepare and deliver persuasive presentations to potential sponsors, board members and other stakeholders to secure financial support for the organization's programs and initiatives.
  • Proactively identify and pursue opportunities for in-kind contributions, matching gifts and other non-monetary support from individuals and organizations.
  • Develop and oversee systems for tracking and reporting on fundraising activities, ensuring accurate and up-to-date records of donor communications, contributions and pledges.
  • Stay informed about trends and best practices in nonprofit fundraising, particularly related to corporate philanthropy and individual giving and recommend program enhancements.
  • Collaborate with the communications team to create compelling fundraising materials, including case statements, impact reports and donor communications.
  • Represent the organization at networking events, conferences and community engagements to increase awareness and support for its mission.

REQUIREMENTS
  • Bachelors Degree in a related field
  • 5+ years of experience in nonprofit fundraising, with a focus on corporaterelationships, grant writing and individual donor cultivation
  • Strong track record of securing and managing grants from corporate and foundation donors
  • Proven experience in developing and implementing successful fundraising strategies within a nonprofit organization
  • Exceptional written and verbal communication skills, with the ability to craft compelling narratives and presentations
  • Excellent interpersonal skills, with the ability to build strong relationships with diverse stakeholders
  • Highly organized and detail-oriented, with the ability to manage multiple projects and deadlines simultaneously
  • Proficient in using fundraising software and CRM systems (preferred Neon One) to track donor interactions and analyze fundraising data
  • Knowledge of fundraising best practices, industry trends and regulations in the nonprofit sector
