Position Summary

This position supports the Global Financial Institutions Industry Group (FIIG) and the Global Private Equity (PE) Industry Group. Both groups are part of the Firm's wider Global Clients & Industries Team. The position will be responsible for supporting FIIG globally, and PE industry group efforts in the US.

Working closely with the Global Industry Group Leaders, senior Business Development Leads, and the respective Client Relationship Managers, this role will support and drive strategic growth initiatives, client development, market positioning and brand recognition for the industry groups.

Duties and Responsibilities 1
  • Support specific industry, priority area, regional, key and priority client development initiatives within each industry group
  • Develop an in-depth understanding of the Financial Institutions and Private Equity industries and each of their priority areas
  • Coordinate efforts across business services to support ongoing relationship efforts including working closely with our Business Intelligence, Marketing Technology, Market Research, Creative Services, D&I, Learning & Development teams and related cross-functional management
  • Proactively maintain and update client organization charts and relationship mapping documents for key and priority clients of each industry group
  • Assisting, and leading where possible, on RFP responses
  • Support in the preparation and follow up actions of industry and client team meetings
  • Regularly review and use financial reports to help support industry and client development efforts
  • Assist in the maintenance and production of credentials and related materials about the capabilities and experience of each industry group, including lawyers' biographies, brochures and capability statements in support of client targeting efforts
  • Help update and maintain Connect and external practice and lawyer pages on the Firm's website and bio tool system
  • Ensure accurate and timely recording of all pitches, proposal and business opportunities in the Firm's CRM system (InterAction), including pitch win/loss ratio and reasons for success/failure
  • Support on internal communication strategies and activities, including leading on the creation and circulation of industry-related BD newsletters
  • Assist with the collection of accolades and the building of a precedent library for use in proposals, awards and ranking submissions and other settings
  • Lead the submissions process for legal directories (Chambers and Partners, Legal 500 and others), respective league tables and award bodies
  • Work with the Firm's Creative Services and Marketing Technology teams to coordinate the production, distribution and evaluation of client alerts, newsletters and other White & Case publications, including creation, development maintenance of relevant mailing lists
  • Assist in the organization of internal and external events, including building relationships with key external organizations
  • Help share information with and build relationships with colleagues across the Firm to ensure an integrated industry and practice offering
Qualifications
  • Graduate with relevant and in-depth business development experience in a professional services firm (at least three years)
  • Relevant marketing (CIM) experience or post-graduate qualification would be a distinct advantage
  • Experience working in a professional services environment
  • Experience dealing with senior stakeholders and working both as part of a team and autonomously
  • Excellent communication skills - written and oral - and ability to work at all levels, including the ability to write BD and marketing text tailored to a specific client/opportunity
  • Research and analysis skills to obtain relevant information to support the senior BD staff and partners, and the strategy of the groups
  • Able to project manage multiple initiatives concurrently

Location and Reporting
  • This is a hybrid in-office/remote role based in our New York office.
  • This role reports to the Marketing Operations Manager (London).
