Key job responsibilities

• Own the design and implementation for business intelligence architecture for Operational Excellence team using AWS platform and products.

• Own the design, implementation, and maintenance of new ongoing metrics, reports, analyzes, and dashboards to drive key business decisions.

• Partner with technology teams to define, extract, transform, and load data from many data sources using SQL and other tools.

• Conduct deep dive analyses of business problems and data issues provide data based recommendations to leaders and partner teams.

• Think outside of dashboards and metrics and work with business stakeholders, product teams to drive automation, product and process improvements to achieve the business goals.

About the team

The AMER OpsTech Solutions (OTS) Operational Excellence (OE) team is looking for a highly skilled, and motivated business intelligence leader to play a pivotal role in the design of architecture and strategy and to develop scalable business intelligence solutions. This is a tremendous opportunity to contribute and own the end-end design of the data analytics framework.

OTS provides IT support and technology deployment for Amazon's Operations Technology Infrastructure, so that Amazon can fulfill its commitment to customers.

Operational Excellence Team adopts a data driven approach and strives for a proactive approach to issue resolution rather than a reactive response.

BASIC QUALIFICATIONS

- 3+ years of analyzing and interpreting data with Redshift, Oracle, NoSQL etc. experience

- Experience with data visualization using Tableau, Quicksight, or similar tools

- Experience with data modeling, warehousing and building ETL pipelines

- Experience in Statistical Analysis packages such as R, SAS and Matlab

- Experience using SQL to pull data from a database or data warehouse and scripting experience (Python) to process data for modeling

PREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS

- Experience with AWS solutions such as EC2, DynamoDB, S3, and Redshift

- Experience in data mining, ETL, etc. and using databases in a business environment with large-scale, complex datasets

Our compensation reflects the cost of labor across several US geographic markets. The base pay for this position ranges from $89,600/year in our lowest geographic market up to $185,000/year in our highest geographic market. Pay is based on a number of factors including market location and may vary depending on job-related knowledge, skills, and experience. Amazon is a total compensation company.
