We are seeking a Business Office Manager to join our team!!

Business Office Manager at Baylor Scott & White Orthopedic and Spine Hospital - Arlington:
  • The Manager is responsible for all departmental functions in support of the hospital mission, vision, and facility goals.
  • The Manager identifies the cost-effective systems needed to support the business of the department taking into account business trends, resource availability and changes in customers.
  • This position establishes effective working relationships with all constituencies including patients, physicians, employees, volunteers and vendors.
  • The Manager identifies and remedies through continuous customer satisfaction data and employee involvement.
  • The Department Manager works with CFO in meeting Facility goals.
  • Oversees all functions of Scheduling, Insurance Verification, Admitting/Registration, Billing, Collections.
  • Assist the Central Billing Office with coding.

Minimum of 5 years' hospital revenue cycle experience or related field is required

• Patient accounting system, required

Position Duties and Responsibilities:

• Enhance and standardize our workflow processes throughout the revenue cycle to assist in achieving consistency in maintaining the critical success factors outlined in hospitals operating procedures

• Monitors effectiveness of collections efforts and maintain insurance billings are current within the established time frame specified in by the department.

• Monitors timeliness and effectiveness of department activities, ensuring that outstanding patient accounts and accounts receivables is no more than agreed upon limit and that bad debt is within budgeted target.

• Compiles and prepares various reports for management in order to analyze trends and make recommendations.

• Work closely with the CSO on collections, coding and billing.

• Prepare month-end reports for the CFO regarding revenue cycle, actual to budget as well as preparing department month-end reports and variance explanations.

• Work closely with Case Management on ADR's and RAC's.

• Familiar with clinical policies and guidelines for commercial and government payors.
