ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS
  • Audits, reviews, and processes electronic purchase requisitions, as received.
  • Prepares, places, and maintains purchase orders for the Medical Center and Clinics; documents items purchased, pricing, vendor information, and all other pertinent information regarding the order.
  • Modifies and inputs data in the MMIS for supplies, equipment, and services.
  • Confirms Vizient contract pricing, negotiates special pricing, and/or obtains bids to ensure the best possible price is paid for supplies, equipment, and services. Reviews ECRI data for best practices for managing and controlling costs.
  • Provides exceptional customer service and maintains effective communication with all departments.
  • Assists with preparing purchase requests, coordinates product returns, and resolves invoice discrepancies.
  • Follows up on backorders, and completes accruals and product failures in a timely manner.
  • Responsible for performing other duties as necessary.
  • Assists in maintaining department files; provides office support and answers department phone in the absence of the Assistant Buyer.
  • Assists with storeroom and surgery annual inventories, shipping and distribution functions, and any other department activities as necessary. Promotes customer service and staff satisfaction scores within supply chain and the hospital.
  • May complete unit/department specific duties as outlined in department documents.
REQUIRED QUALIFICATIONS

High school diploma or an equivalent combination of education and experience from which comparable knowledge, skills and abilities can be acquired.

Three (3) years of relevant experience.
