The Buyer is responsible for purchase policies, processes, and procedures as it relates to Purchase Order administration for assigned branch locations, vendors, or product types. This role uses product and buying knowledge, planning, and methods to coordinate inbound purchase orders and handle special ordering.

What will you be doing?
  • Demonstrates proficiency in the use of vendor specific computer systems or web sites.
  • Demonstrates proficiency in the company ERP system in aspects related to data entry, messaging, job queues, batching, and all areas relating to purchase functions and terminology.
  • Accurately and completely maintains products into company ERP system as needed.
  • Performs accurate purchase order maintenance and special-order handling
  • Ensure open purchase orders are proactively updated to reflect accurate arrival dates, Expediting as needed
  • Reviews and maintains accurate vendor lead times
  • Address vendor delivery issues and escalates as needed
  • Maintains productive and positive business relationships with assigned vendors. Advises manager immediately on escalated or complex matters.


What we need from you:

Preferred Job Requirements
  • 5 or more years' experience with purchasing and related functions.


Minimum Job Requirements

  • High School diploma or its GED equivalent
  • 2 or more years' experience with purchasing and related functions.
  • Demonstrated knowledge of MS Office suite applications (Word, Excel, PowerPoint, Outlook)
  • Aptitude for mathematical operations and numerical analysis.
  • Use computers, photocopiers, scanners, phone systems and meeting and virtual platform sharing relative to the needs of the job.
  • Minimum keyboarding skills of 40 words per minute.
