Hardware Solutions is a global team responsible for the design and manufacture of hardware development tools inside. Our integrated hardware development solutions for embedded microprocessors have been widely adopted by customers worldwide. The Hardware CAD Designer is a key role on our design teams, responsible for critical aspects of hardware board design related to printed circuit board (PCB) layout and fabrication.

Responsibilities:
Reviewing, approving, and providing feedback on schematics, PCB placements and layout requirements.
Implementing PCB layout according to the layout consideration documents (LCD).
Creating PCB layout files, such as ODB++, Geber (GRB) and fabrication drawing and layer stack-up information per internal documentation standards.
Releasing PCB design files in NXPs Product Data Management database (Aras Innovator)
Utilizing the NXP Component Library (NCL) to reuse design methodologies and leverage existing designs and components for future projects
Collaborating with CAD Library team to implement NCL improvements.
Working proactively with external PCB fabrication shops to optimize cost, quality, on time delivery and ensure fabrication requirements on a project.
Conducting fabrication readiness reviews and ensure New Product Introduction (NPI) process adherence for all CAD activities.
Providing training to NXP Business Line (BL) designers in tools and use of the NCL library.
Improving core competency in layout practices and CAD tools and technologies.
Participating in peer reviews of CAD library and PCB layouts to improve the design process across the Hardware Solutions Group.
Engaging with IC packaging teams to optimize package pinouts for performance, rout-ability, and cost.

Required Skills & Experience

5+ years of experience in relevant field
o Bachelors degree in electronics, product & industrial design, or related field, or equivalent work experience
Proficiency with CAD tools such as Allegro PCB Designer, Eagle, or Altium is a plus.
Experience in ball map optimization with IC packaging focus is highly desirable.
Experience designing high-layer count (>12) PCBs with multi-lamination construction is desired.
Experience with creating symbols and library parts using library tools.
Understand PCB and PCBA manufacturing process and quality requirements, including DFx processes.
Experience with IPC standards as relate to PCB design, fabrication, and assembly.
Solid high speed digital signal design and test experience are preferred.
Solid understanding of electronics components is required.
Experience in HDI, Ethernet switch, router, wireless charging, embedded systems, power meter, RF and wireless, Touchpad/Touch-screen system development will be an extreme advantage.
