Title: Cardiology Technician 3 - Danbury Hospital Stress Testing - Danbury, CT - Full Time/40 Hour per week, 8 hour shifts - 8:00am - 4:30pm, Monday - Friday, some Saturdays. Will work in the Danbury/New Milford locations.

Summary: To operate cardiac diagnostic equipment and compile data on patients during cardiac diagnostic procedures to obtain optimal results and data processing for the general purpose of diagnosing heart disease.

Responsibilities:
1. Works primarily day shift hours as needed by department. Works weekends and holidays as part of an EKG rotational coverage.
2. Prepares and positions patients, adjusts & activates equipment, & connects patients to monitors to initiate the cardiology procedure.
3. Obtains medical history during patient interview, assesses patient's condition, and explains test procedure to ensure patient comfort prior to initiating procedure.
4. Performs non-invasive procedures such as all procedures performed under the Cardiology Technician II position, and independently performs all forms of Exercise stress testing including Nuclear Cardiology Exercise Stress Testing.
5. Performs EKGs from all areas of the Health System, collates and processes the EKGs using the EKG management system.
6. Monitors patient performance during test procedures to observe for abnormalities, and institutes proper emergency procedures when necessary.
7. Provides instruction and direction to patient to ensure patient satisfaction.
8. Obtains test results and delivers results to doctors to provide timely satisfactory information.
9. Prepares requisitions and charge cards to ensure proper billing for services.
10. Cleans exam room and equipment & stocks supplies to ensure a safe & clean environment for patients & co-workers.
11. Participates in conferences, staff meetings, in service training and quality assurance program to keep informed & promote continuous quality improvement.
12. Answers telephone and gives information or routes call to ensure that effective communication occurs.
13. Fulfills all compliance responsibilities related to the position.
14. Performs other duties as assigned.

Other information:
Required: High School Diploma/GED
Minimum Experience: three years
Desired: Preferably one year experience as a Cardiology Tech II or the equivalent years of experience as a Cardiology Tech performing all procedures listed in the above major responsibilities.

Salary Range:

$18.3900 - $34.1400 Hourly (Rate of pay based on years of experience)
