Job Summary
Responsible for providing professional development coaching to Jonsson School students and alumni on job search strategies, skill development, interviewing and networking preparation and resume writing. Develop and lead interactive student workshops, engage, and collaborate with Employer Relations to determine industry needs and collect and interpret data to determine student needs and solutions. Market and encourage participation in internship program and student participation in ECS events and services. Assist with processing work authorization for international students; ensure compliance with employment and program policies and procedures; maintain and protect accurate records of all student information. Assist ECS student organizations and student counsel.

Minimum Education and Experience
Bachelor's degree and three (3) years of experience in a related career field or a master's degree in a related field or discipline with one (1) year of experience; OR the equivalent combination of relevant education and experience.

Preferred Education and Experience
  • Knowledge of career guidance/counseling/coach best practices.
  • Experience with software applications that facilitate the job search process, care advising (job search strategies, interviewing, resume preparation, networking, etc.).
  • Knowledge of student development theory.
  • Experience leading training or professional development workshops.
  • Active participant in NACE and/or other related professional groups.
  • Ability to work one-to-one with students and in groups.
  • Ability to use multi-model communication technology.
Essential Duties and Responsibilities
  • Provide students with career advising, including resume review, interview preparation, job search strategizing and other professional development activities through multi-modes of communication.
  • Develop and lead interactive student-focused workshops and programs with measurable outcomes including internships, mentoring, and professional development programs.
  • Collaborate with Employer Relations in meeting with employers to determine industry needs and facilitate student engagement opportunities.
  • Collect, interpret, and report employment, internship, and first destination data.
  • Collaborate with the departments and industry contacts to fulfill student needs.
  • Assist student with CPT process: verify information, collect and submit documentation to update students I-20, trouble shoot student issues; evaluate work reports, and ensure compliance with employment and program policies and procedures.
  • Maintain accurate records of all student contacts using office systems.
  • Participate in and contribute to University and Jonsson School activities, as needed.
  • Provide administrative support in development, implementation, and marketing of program/projects.
  • Serve as a liaison between students, faculty, staff, and other departments and/or external constituencies in implementation and administration of program objectives.
  • Work with faculty to develop and promote integrated professional development opportunities.
  • Work with student organizations to develop and promote professional development opportunities.
  • Represent ECS Career Services in the absence of the Director of Career Services and Professional Development.
  • Other Duties as assigned.
