Why does the job exist?

This position is critical to the daily operations of the agency's bank deposits and is responsible for working with all the divisions to ensure all preparation of the accuracy of revenue form for posting into SHARE Financial Accounts Receivable Module. Communications with Divisions and Programs to resolve any deposit discrepancies. Works closely with Cash Manager research request.

How does it get done?

The position is responsible for reviewing, analyzing, and correcting of the financial data and reports of the General Ledger, Trial Balance, and the Journal Entries. Reconciliation will be required and be able to download various queries and assess the activities posted to determine appropriateness, identify and analyze account balance variances to make correction journal entries. The ability to prepare financial data into usable reports and analyze the information. The position requires good communication and able to provide assistance as needed.

Who are the customers?

Department of Health Divisions and Programs including Internal and External auditors.

Ideal Candidate

1. Knowledge of SHARE Financial.
2. Knowledge and application of GAAP and MAPs.
3. Proficient with Microsoft Office including Excel spreadsheets.
4. Experience preparing and coordinating reconciliations.
5. Strong oral and written communication.
6 Completed at least 24 hours in Accounting to include Intermediate and Governmental Accounting courses.

Minimum Qualification

Bachelor's Degree in Accounting, Finance, Auditing or Business Administration and two (2) years directly related work experience in accounting, auditing, finance and/or budgeting. Substitutions Apply. See Substitution Table below.

Employment Requirements

Must have completion of an AHIMA (American Health Information Management Association) approved coding certificate HRIA, RHIT or CCS or have completion of an AAPC (American Academy of Professional Coders) approved coding certificate CPC or CIC, as well as one year of recent coding experience working in a hospital setting.

Working Conditions

Work is performed in an office setting with exposure to Visual/Video Display Terminal (VDT) and extensive personal computer and phone usage. Some sitting, standing, bending and reaching may be required.
