What You'll Do

The Category Manager-Mobile Equipment is responsible for developing, implementing, continuous improvement, communicating, and executing enterprise-wide sourcing strategies for major/critical spend categories such as heavy equipment, construction equipment, tires, oils & lubes, to name a few.

Responsibilities:
  • Work cross-functionally and align business partners (internal and external) to accomplish objectives and achieve organizational goals.
  • Apply strategic sourcing and continuous improvement principles to sub-categories in the mobile equipment categories, supporting the Mobile Strategic Sourcing Manager.
  • Leverage heavy industry category and supplier knowledge to identify new opportunities.
  • Standardize and optimize processes where possible, identify and present observations and recommendations for improvements to leadership.
  • Work closely with key stakeholders to ensure programs align with business requirements and are achieving desired impacts.
  • Ability to travel up to 50%, including overnight travel.


Qualifications

Skills You'll Need:

Education:
  • Bachelor's degree or equivalent experience in the field is required, and an advanced degree is desirable.

Experience:
  • Successful, 7+ year track record in heavy industrial category management sourcing. Experience with key mobile categories is required (i.e., heavy equipment, off-road tires, oil & lubricants).

Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities
  • Strong track record working cross-functionally and aligning business partners across the company to accomplish objectives and achieve organizational goals.
  • Strong knowledge of procurement practices and excellent project management skills are required.
  • Intermediate-level expertise in analytics, negotiations, thinking agility, stakeholder management, communication, and financial business acumen.
  • Ability to work in ambiguous and self-directed projects and initiatives aimed toward driving down the total cost of ownership in these respective areas.
