JOB TITLE: Central Office Staff Accountant

QUALIFICATIONS:
  1. Bachelor's degree with majors in Accounting, Business or Finance preferred.
  2. Work experience in government accounting is
  3. Advanced knowledge in the use of business software
  4. Professional oral and written communication skills
  5. Such alternatives to the above qualifications as the Board of Education may find appropriate and acceptable.

Job related Mental/Physical Demands and Environmental Factors:

Routinely required to communicate verbally and in writing. Moderate sitting, walking, standing, carrying, stooping, bending, kneeling, reaching, lifting, pushing, and pulling.

REPORTS TO: Chief School Finance Officer and Director of Human Resources

JOB GOAL: To perform business tasks for the Finance, Operations and Human Resources Department.
Essential Functions:
  1. Participate in the day-to-day operations of the Finance, Operations and Human Resources
  2. Assigned to Finance, Operations and Human Resources Department, as well as deliver services in a professional, efficient, and effective manner.
  3. Record, analyze and process accounts payable, treasury, bids, payroll data, fixed assets and purchase orders.
  4. Prepares reports and other data analysis for management or other department
  5. Practice Generally Accepted Accounting Principles, School Board policy, Finance, Operations and Human Resources Department policy, State regulations and Federal
  6. Assists Finance, Operations and Human Resources with annual reports and other regular accountability functions.
  7. Maintain, create and prepare complex excel workbook
  8. Assist Finance, Accounting, and Payroll management with special projects as
  9. Prepare, analyze and process Federal and State Tax
  10. Prepare, analyze and process employee leave, benefits and other related
  11. Maintains and practice established internal
  12. Monitor for and report any misstatements or fraud to the
  13. Review and maintain files regularly and purge allowable
  14. Professionally assists vendors, employees and other stakeholders with accounting information as needed or required.
  15. Maintain confidentiality of any school system related information and any sensitive employee information.
  16. Regular and punctual in attendance
  17. Any other reasonable office related tasks assigned by supervisors

TERMS OF EMPLOYMENT:

Twelve-month contract. Based on Pelham City Schools salary matrix and depending on degree and experience range: Salary based on Central Office Bookkeeper salary schedule. Exempt employee.
