The Staff Accountant plays a crucial role in supporting the accounting department by maintaining accurate financial records, performing day-to-day accounting tasks, and assisting in the preparation of financial reports. This position works closely with the Accounting Manager and other team members to ensure compliance with accounting principles and company policies.

Duties and Responsibilities:
Essential duties and responsibilities include but are not limited to:
Assist in the preparation and maintenance of general ledger entries and account reconciliations
Process accounts payable and accounts receivable transactions, ensuring accuracy and timeliness
Prepare and post journal entries as needed and review for correctness
Support month-end and year-end close processes by gathering necessary data and completing required tasks
Assist in the preparation of financial reports and schedules for internal use and external audits
Ensure compliance with company policies and accounting principles, including U.S. GAAP
Perform routine audits of financial transactions and records to ensure accuracy and compliance
Contribute to the development and maintenance of accounting policies and procedures
Collaborate with team members to identify and resolve accounting issues and process inefficiencies
Provide support during audits by supplying requested documentation and information
Assist with special projects and other duties as assigned by the Accounting Manager

Required Skills & Experience

BS/BA in Accounting, Finance, or a related field from a four-year college or university preferred
3+ years of relevant accounting experience, preferably in a similar industry or setting
CPA certification or progress towards obtaining CPA is a plus
Familiarity with U.S. GAAP and general accounting principles
Strong proficiency in Microsoft Excel and accounting software
Excellent analytical skills with attention to detail and accuracy
Ability to work effectively both independently and as part of a team
Strong communication skills and the ability to handle multiple tasks in a fast-paced environment
