The CalSTRS Procurement Management Division is seeking a motivated individual to work as an Associate Governmental Program Analyst in the Solicitations and Contracts Unit.
The Procurement Management Division serves as a collaborative conduit between the vendor community and CalSTRS business areas to secure competitive pricing from the most qualified providers to transparently fulfill the needs of our customers. We endeavor to provide excellent customer service through teamwork, system expertise and support.
The Solicitations & Contracts Unit formulates competitive bidding documents and executes contracts and purchase orders for the provision of goods and services necessary for CalSTRS business areas to fulfill their missions and goals, including the development and implementation procedures associated with procurement and contract activities.
Under the direction of the Staff Services Manager I, the Associate Governmental Program Analyst is responsible for administering the more complex procurements and solicitations of the Procurement office in support of the CalSTRS procurement operations.
The ideal candidate will possess the following skills:
Every 12 months, based on performance evaluation, employees may receive a 5% salary increase until they reach the maximum salary for the position.
Duties will be adjusted at the Staff Services Analyst level.
Please note that this is a limited-term position with the possibility of being extended up to 24 months or becoming permanent.
Telework Information: CalSTRS offers a hybrid approach including in-office and remote work solutions with staff working on-site at our Headquarters in West Sacramento 2 days per week .

Working Conditions
All staff of CalSTRS are employees of the State of California and subject to California employment taxes and withholdings. Upon appointment, staff are required to provide a current California address to CalSTRS Human Resources to be used as a remote work location.

- Experience exercising a high degree of diplomacy, tact, professionalism, initiative, and independence
- Experience maintaining division information on Internet or Intranet and SharePoint Sites
- Experience communicating, both orally and in writing, with internal and/or external customers
- Experience resolving complex issues
