Job Summary: The Central Supply Manager is responsible for overseeing the procurement, storage, and distribution of medical supplies and equipment within the nursing home. This role ensures that all supplies are available and accessible to staff, while maintaining compliance with regulatory standards and budgetary constraints.
Key Responsibilities:
Procurement and Inventory Management:
Order and maintain inventory of medical supplies and equipment.
Monitor stock levels and reorder supplies as needed.
Conduct regular inventory audits to ensure accuracy and prevent shortages.
Check inventory for expiration dates and remove expired items.
Storage and Distribution:
Ensure proper storage of supplies to maintain their integrity and usability.
Distribute supplies to various departments as needed.
Implement and maintain an efficient supply distribution system.
Make daily deliveries of supplies to nursing units.
Compliance and Documentation:
Ensure compliance with all regulatory requirements related to medical supplies.
Maintain accurate records of supply orders, receipts, and usage.
Prepare and submit reports on inventory status and usage patterns.
Ensure staff adherence to policies and procedures related to supply management, corporate compliance and code of conduct
Budget Management:
Manage the supply budget and ensure cost-effective purchasing.
Identify opportunities for cost savings and implement strategies to reduce expenses.
Ensure staff adherence to policies and procedures related to supply management.
Qualifications:
High school diploma or equivalent;
Minimum of 3 years of experience in supply chain management, preferably in a healthcare setting.
Strong organizational and time management skills.
Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
Proficiency in inventory management software and Microsoft Office Suite.
Knowledge of regulatory requirements related to medical supplies.
Physical Requirements:
Ability to lift 50lbs and move supplies and equipment.
Prolonged periods of standing and walking.
Work Environment:
Fast-paced nursing home environment, supply room, resident units.
Interaction with various departments and staff members.
