Purpose of Position
Assist Clinicians with office procedures and examinations.

Description
  1. Manages patient flow for clinicians.
  2. Greets and assists patients into exam areas. Obtains relevant information, takes vital signs and inputs pertinent clinical information into the medical records .Prepares for exams and procedures according to department protocol.
  3. Advocates for patients as appropriate and assists in resolving patient concerns.
  4. Assist clinician's with clinical procedures and/or additional test specific to the department. May advise patient of preparation required for exam or testing, and provides patient with follow- up instructions when needed.
  5. Keeps patients informed of visit status, unforeseen delays and other relevant information.
  6. Ensures exam rooms are prepared and maintained. Cleans exam rooms and treatment areas, and maintains supplies, instruments and equipment.
  7. Maintain accurate/timely documentation in patients chart.
  8. Orders and maintains clinic supplies and equipment according to department policy.
  9. Transports all dirty/clean instruments to the Sterile Processing Department on a daily basis.
  10. Performs all daily quality measures and logs, including but not limited to;
    1. Eye wash station
    2. Hand hygiene survey
    3. HCG testing log
    4. Chem strip log
  11. Assists in patient reception and answering telephone as needed.
  12. Provides clerical and secretarial support as needed.
  13. Performs other work related duties as assigned or requested.

Qualifications
  • Ability to read, write and communicate in English
  • High School Diploma or GED
  • Nationally Certified Medical Assistant
  • Current Basic Life Support Certification required.
  • Successful passage of a Medical Terminology course or successful passage of the CCH Medical Terminology challenge exam
