JOB SUMMARY: Assists nursing personnel in providing nonprofessional nursing care under the direction and supervision of an RN or LPN

JOB DESCRIPTION:

1) Receives assignments, checks residents' schedules for the shift, gives A.M. care to residents, bathes and dresses residents. Sees that residents are properly and comfortably clothed at all times, gives beauty care, shampoos hair care, shaves male residents, trims nails, assists resident with personal and dental hygiene, makes bed, sets room in order, waters flowers, etc.

2) Assists residents with diets, checks diet trays with diet orders before serving, serves trays, helps feed residents, removes trays.

3) Assists with or gives personal care after meal.

4) If residents are able to eat in the dining room, transport residents to and from dining area and supervises hem while they are in the dining room.

5) Settles nourishments and/or fresh water.

6) Assists residents to and from bathrooms, offers bedpans, and keeps incontinent residents clean at all times, changing linens as often as necessary.

7) Encourages showers and other self-help measures and activities.

8) Prepares residents for tests and x-rays, visits by physicians and dentists; occupational therapy, physical therapy, speech therapy, and recreation.

9) Creates and maintains an atmosphere of courtesy and respect towards patients, families, and staff.

10) Demonstrates respect for the cultural and religious diversities and needs of the residents, families, and staff.

**Hourly Rate : $19.69 with Evening and Night differential.**
