We're currently searching for a Certified Nurse Practitioner or Physician Assistant to join our Schiffert Health Center team in Blacksburg, VA to help us in our mission. So, if you're looking for a healthcare position in a higher education setting, please keep reading.

HERE'S WHAT YOU NEED TO KNOW ABOUT THIS ROLE:
1) You'll be joining the Schiffert Health Center team; a department centered on the health and wellbeing of our student population by caring for them in their times of illness or injuries.
2) You'll be reporting to the Director, in a Regular nine-month, 100% university AP Faculty appointment.
3) You'll be responsible for maintaining and promoting the health of the student body at Virginia Tech by utilizing the diagnostic, therapeutic and educational skills of a Certified Nurse Practitioner or a Physician Assistant. To interact closely with physician members of the SHC medical staff and practice under the supervision of a licensed physician.
4) You'll have the chance to grow and take advantage of a developmental plan with opportunities to advance within the Department and the Division.
5) You'll be offered a base compensation package between $78,000 - $80,000, along with a comprehensive benefits package which includes health insurance, paid leave, retirement, tuition assistance, VT discounts, and so much more!

Required Qualifications
• Licensure to practice as a Physician Assistant or Nurse Practitioner with the ability to obtain Virginia certification
• Previous professional experience practicing as a Physician Assistant/Nurse Practitioner including performing minor surgical procedures and physical examinations
• Ordering and interpreting diagnostic tests and developing treatment plans
• Ability to recognize emergency medical situations and take appropriate action
• Excellent communication skills and the ability to seek physician consultation when appropriate and relate well to patients.
• Significant years of experience in a clinical setting.

Preferred Qualifications
• Knowledge/experience in a college health setting.
• Preference given for experience with electronic medical records (EMR).

Work Schedule

Monday - Friday 8:00 am - 5:00 pm and rotating Saturdays 9:00 am - 12:00 pm
