Now hiring for a Per Diem Certified Occupational Therapy Assistant (COTA)!

Essential Job Functions Include:
  • Assist supervising, with the licensed therapist, in overall assessment of residents.
  • Assist Licensed Therapist in performing tests, evaluations, and complex treatment procedures.
  • Carry out Resident care programs as planned and directed by Licensed Therapist.
  • Carry out exercise program and train Residents in exercise, ambulation, and activities of daily living as set forth by the Licensed Therapist and Resident Care Plan.
  • Observe, report, and chart Resident's response to the Licensed Therapist.
  • Participates in Resident, family, and staff education as needed.
  • Assist with cleaning of treatment and department area.
  • Additional duties as assigned by the Director of Rehabilitation.


Qualifications:
  • Must be a graduate from an accredited 2 year Therapy Assistant program.
  • Must possess a current NYS License for Occupational Therapy Assistant.
  • Experience working with the elderly and/or in a health care setting is desirable.
  • Must have knowledge of Therapy procedures.
  • Must be able to advocate for seniors and families.
  • Must be available for Holidays.
  • Be a team player and work cooperatively with all staff in the facility.
  • Must be able to read, write, speak and understand the English language in an understandable manner.
  • Must be able to perform essential job functions (reasonable accommodation may apply.)
  • Must be able to function independently, have flexibility, personal integrity and the ability to work effectively with Residents, staff, visitors, volunteers, government agencies/personnel, etc. under all conditions and circumstances.
