Responsibilities

  • Assist the RN and surgeon in preparing for surgical procedures, assist in surgical procedures, and prepare for the next case
  • Handle the instruments, supplies, and equipment necessary during the surgical procedure
  • Have an understanding of the procedure being performed and anticipates the needs of the surgeon
  • Have the necessary knowledge and ability to ensure quality patient care during the operative procedure and is constantly on vigil for maintenance of the sterile field

Qualifications

Job Requirements
  • Current CST certification from NBSTSA
  • CPR certified from American Heart Association or American Red Cross

Preferred Job Requirements
  • Previous work experience as a surgical tech
