Responsibilities
Palm Shores is hiring a Certified Therapeutic Recreation Specialist (CTRS) to join our clinical team!
As the Recreational Therapist you will plan and implement an activities program including but not limited to therapeutic leisure skills and activities, leisure education and leisure awareness. Engage patients in therapeutic activities, such as exercise, games and community outings. Help patients learn social skills needed to become or remain independent. Modify activities to suit the needs of specific groups. Help patients learn social skills needed to become or remain independent. Demonstrate a positive, empathetic and professional attitude towards customers always
Activies include:
Bachelor's Degree in Therapeutic Recreation, Recreational Therapy or related field required
Certified Therapeutic Recreation Specialist: CTRS certification or currently in the process of obtaining national certification; OR certified in the area of specialty (Art, Dance, Music, etc.).
Must be able to read, understand, and follow: policies, procedures, and written treatment plans.
May be required to work occasional overtime and flexible hours.
Successful completion of CPR Certification and successful completion of Handle with Care prior to assisting with a restraining procedure and within 7 days of employment.
Ability to communicate verbally and in writing. Physical agility to manage patients. Push, pull and lift up to 50 pounds.
Intermittent sitting, standing, walking, bending, and stooping.

- Group games (4-square, volleyball, kickball, basket ball, etc)
