The Production Change Process Engineer is responsible for designing, implementing, and continuously improving the change control process. Their work involves optimizing the internal material flow for any changes in the physical and systematic flow variations. This is achieved through cross-departmental collaboration, where process engineers design change control processes that establish the internal supply chain from the supplier to the lineside part presentations.
In addition, the Production Change Process Engineer acts as a bridge for cross-departmental communication and ensures that production control is in perfect sync with the MBOM, Quality, Design Engineering, and any Product Change Approvals. The role also involves reviewing every change to maintain efficiency and quality while reducing costs and safety concerns. This work begins after the preliminary designs are confirmed and the EBOM is released. The Production Change Process Engineer works closely with the new product introduction team to plan for each part for equipment validation, manufacturing confirmations, and finally, ensuring that the material flow is ready for standard operating production volumes.


Responsibilities
  • Create Standard Operating Procedures for launching new products
  • Develop data pipelines for bridging cross-functional databases and create Data visualization models in Tableau or Power Bi
  • Develop KPIs and track those KPIs for incremental progress of the overall team and change process from PCA to the change implementation for production
  • Develop process poke yokes; 5 why / Ishikawa diagrams / FMEA / logic tree and barrier analysis
  • Lead Material flow of the entire BOM for pre-production builds while maintaining IP and using the lean principals
  • Create tailored change control dashboards and processes for new SKUs and material introductions
  • Lead process implementation and sustaining with continuous improvements
  • Lead cross-functional change management, forecast the impact on material flow, and plan for every aspect of the change.
  • Analyze and minimize the impact of changes to reduce net add of OPEX and CAPEX for the business - Dock assignment, additional storage space, route allocation
  • Stress test and simulate the impact of the changes on manpower allocation to maximize returns with minimum inputs


Requirements
  • Degree in an Engineering discipline or equivalent experience
  • 2+ years of professional experience in material flow engineering, process engineering, continuous improvement engineering, supply chain engineering, logistics, or manufacturing
  • Basic data manipulation skills to store, retrieve, and run queries on material flow systems
  • Experience with data visualization tools like Power BI, Tableau
  • Proven experience in designing and implementing material flow for new manufacturing line launches
  • Superior knowledge of lean manufacturing principles, logistics business systems, pre-determined motion, and material flow systems. Proven experience utilizing tools to effectively analyze problems to their root cause and implement solutions
  • Experience in mining, collecting, cleansing, and analyzing data using Excel, SQL, Python or other analytical tools
  • Proficient in AutoCAD, Rivet, or similar 2D CAD software to create and evaluate layouts
  • Effective cross-functional collaboration skillset to collectively work through problem-solving
