We are seekinga Chemist to join our Nail Development team in our Clark, NJfacility for Research & Innovation. This role is responsible for thecreative and technical aspects of specific product development categories. Theywill maintain close awareness of scientific literature, raw materials technology,processing methodology, and marketing trends required to perform innovativeproduct development assignments in a timely and efficient manner. They overseea safe and orderly laboratory environment and partake in R&I projects frombeginning to end, then finally issuing formulas.

As a Chemist in our Nail Development team, your mainresponsibilities are:
  • Show creativity and resourcefulness to come up with solutions to issues which may arise during the development process and/or in anticipation to issues which may come up in pilot plant or manufacturing.
  • Retrieves safety approvals, Right to Market, codes new raw materials, and issues Ingredient Listings.
  • Perform product stability on all formulas as well as rectify stability issues.
  • Must meet deadlines and interact with various groups within R&D.
  • Follow through on all aspects of projects from inception to officialization.
  • Interface with technical support groups including marketing, Demi-grand, and manufacturing.
  • Maintains technical awareness of developments within field of responsibility.
  • Communicates development challenges to management on a timely basis, while offering alternative solutions.
  • Keeps accurate and precise records.


To Succeed in this Position, You Have:
  • A completed Bachelor's degree in Chemistry, Chemical Engineering, biology or related field with 1-3 years of laboratory experience required
  • Formulation experience in nail, coatings, polymers, or color preferred
  • Formulation, analytical and project management skills preferred
  • Experience implementing digital tools & data visualization preferred
  • A self-starter with a passion for the industry
  • Demonstrated creativity and resourcefulness in solving technical problems that may arise during product development or in the transfer of the technology to manufacturing
  • Knowledge of applicable IT and R&I laboratory systems preferred
  • The ability to lift 35 lbs (11.3 kg) (required)
  • Must be authorized to work in the United States on a full-time, permanent, ongoing basis, without the need for legal sponsorship now or in the future.
