The Marketing and Communication (MarComm) team takes responsibility for external communications and marketing efforts, involving multiple stakeholders and audiences. This includes leading and executing strategies that share knowledge and innovation from Berkeley Haas to inspire and inform prospective students, alumni, and leaders across business and other sectors.
The Haas School of Business embraces flexible working arrangements for its employees. Exact arrangements are determined in partnership with your supervisor to meet role responsibilities and department needs, and are subject to change.

Responsibilities
This position exists to provide executive level leadership in a competitive environment for Berkeley Haas. It leads a team of marketing and communications professionals to innovate and execute communication and marketing strategies that share knowledge about Berkeley Haas programs, research, and innovative ideas, including leading edge insights on vital issues related to leadership, entrepreneurship, finance, real estate, sustainability, investing, and more.
Manages comprehensive marketing programs for Berkeley Haas, one of the world's leading producers of new ideas and knowledge in all areas of business.
Other duties as assigned.
Professional Learning and Growth
This is a 100% full-time (40 hrs a week) exempt career position, which is paid monthly and eligible for UC Benefits.

Under California law, the University of California, Berkeley is required to provide a reasonable estimate of the compensation range for this role and should not offer a salary outside of the range posted in this job announcement. This range takes into account the wide range of factors that are considered in making compensation decisions including but not limited to experience, skills, knowledge, abilities, education, licensure and certifications, analysis of internal equity, and other business and organizational needs. It is not typical for an individual to be offered a salary at or near the top of the range for a position. Salary offers are determined based on final candidate qualifications and experience.
The budgeted salary or hourly range that the University reasonably expects to pay for this position is $160,000.00 - $220,000.00.

Responsibilities
This position exists to provide executive level leadership in a competitive environment for Berkeley Haas. It leads a team of marketing and communications professionals to innovate and execute communication and marketing strategies that share knowledge about Berkeley Haas programs, research, and innovative ideas, including leading edge insights on vital issues related to leadership, entrepreneurship, finance, real estate, sustainability, investing, and more.
Manages comprehensive marketing programs for Berkeley Haas, one of the world's leading producers of new ideas and knowledge in all areas of business.
- Executes a marketing vision for the school and manages a large program to successful achievement of complex marketing and communications requirements including promotion of faculty research, institutional news, the Berkeley Haas magazine, email and digital communications, brand marketing and strategic initiatives, executive communications, and program marketing and analytics.
- This includes the management of communications and marketing programs, including the Haas website, social media, print magazine, etc. to ensure strategic implementation and consistency.
- This includes taking responsibility for overseeing strategic communications and developing long and short-term initiatives to grow, enhance, and protect the school's reputation and Haas priorities.
- It also includes creating a vision for key messages from Berkeley Haas and strategies that affect multiple constituencies.
- This includes multiple teams composed of 20 people, including a large program marketing team that alone has 11 individuals performing highly complex and essential work.
- Evaluates and creates high quality and innovative digital marketing and communications that is creative, compelling, and effectively communicates the importance of faculty research, student experience, alumni accomplishments and impact, and academic excellence while promoting Haas' reputation as one of the world's leading producers of new ideas and knowledge in all areas of business.

- Thorough knowledge and understanding of technical applications including design concepts, various media and mediums, applications, etc. to effectively manage/supervise professional technical staff.
- Experience in ensuring that the messages/communication are distributed across channels and to targeted audiences in order to meet objectives, including staying on the leading edge of evolving ways to deliver messaging.
- Thorough knowledge of and/or can quickly learn the Berkeley Haas, including its mission, vision, goals, policies, and infrastructure.
- Strong knowledge of current affairs and issues in higher education and top tier Business schools.
- Excellent skills to create, develop and implement long and short-term strategic communications plans.
- Excellent skills to advise and consult management on all aspects of communications, ranging from developing effective communication strategies to appropriately responding to inquiries regarding sensitive or complex issues or information.
- Excellent written, verbal, interpersonal communications, active listening and political acumen skills.
- Excellent knowledge and skills in financial and personnel administration and management.
- Excellent management skills to select, train, manage, motivate and evaluate professional communications staff to produce high quality work; skill to take corrective action as required.
