Job Description

AECOM's Water Business Line is actively seeking a Civil Engineer II for employment in the Coral Gables, Florida or Fort Lauderdale, Florida office. The successful candidate will support the civil design teams in South Florida by working with different disciplines to complete a variety of water, wastewater, stormwater, and resiliency projects. The responsibilities of this position include, but are not limited to:
  • Provides technical design for a variety of water, wastewater, stormwater, and resiliency design projects, including treatment plants, pump stations, water line design, sanitary sewer collection system design and rehabilitation, master planning, and construction administration.
  • Supports project managers in execution of all types of water, wastewater, stormwater, and resiliency design projects.
  • Participates in interdisciplinary review of project deliverables.
  • Develops construction cost estimates and estimates of technical efforts for projects.
  • Performs quality control review of design calculations or drawings.
  • Prepares technical specifications.
  • Provides input to the development of engineering budgets and schedules to meet requirements.

Qualifications

Minimum Requirements
  • Bachelor's degree in Civil Engineering, Environmental Engineering, or related field.
  • 2 years of relevant experience or demonstrated equivalency of experience and/or education.
  • Valid U.S. Driver's License and as a condition of employment, must pass AECOM's Motor Vehicle Records Review.

Preferred Qualifications
  • Master's degree in Civil or Environmental Engineering.
  • Registration as an Engineer Intern (EI).
  • Strong written and oral communication, quantitative, and interpersonal skills.
  • Demonstrate proactive problem-solving skills.
  • Ability to maintain organization in a changing environment.
  • Exhibits initiative, responsibility, and flexibility.
  • Resourceful, highly organized professional with attention to detail.
  • Ability to work in a fast-paced environment and meet deadlines.
  • Effective time-management and interpersonal skills.
  • Ability to work independently and in a team environment.
  • Detail-oriented while still being able to understand and comply with the big picture and goals of a project.
  • Strong desire to learn along with professional drive.

Offered compensation will be based on location and individual qualifications. The expected range is $70,000.00 - $105,000.00.
