Position Summary

This position will develop and lead individual traffic management, traffic systems and information technology projects which develop and implement engineering standards, policies, and procedures for traffic systems. The position will develop advanced level civil engineering knowledge in freeway operations including the Traffic Management Center (TMC) control room operations, ITS, traveler information systems and systems engineering and a high level of job knowledge in facility development to serve as an in-depth expert and technical lead for a variety of program areas and information technology (data, organization, technology, and applications).

The objective level for this position is Civil Engineer Transportation Advanced which requires a valid Wisconsin Professional Engineering Registration as defined in Chapter 443.01, Wis. Stats.

Salary Information

This position is in schedule-range 14-13 with an annual salary of $79,269 - $97,448 for senior and $88,296 - $106,808 for advanced, plus excellent benefits. A twelve month probationary period is required. Pay for current state employees will be set in accordance with the Wisconsin State Compensation Plan.

Qualifications

Qualified Senior level applicants will have experience with all the following:

• Candidate must have graduated from an ABET accredited college or university with a 4-year degree (or Master's or PH.D.) in civil engineering or a related engineering field, OR, possess a PE (Registration as a Professional Engineer in the State of Wisconsin), OR, possess an EIT (Engineer-In-Training) license.
• Candidates must have at least 4 years of professional engineering experience after receiving their degree from an ABET accredited University.

Qualified Advanced level candidates will have the following:

• A valid Professional Engineering registration and be able to obtain a Wisconsin PE registration within 3 months if PE registration is from another state
