The Kenneth A. Kesselring Site's Facilities Engineering organization in Ballston Spa, New York seeks an experienced Civil Engineer to join our mission. The success of our mission relies heavily on a strong foundation of facility infrastructure and system design, construction, and execution management to maintain and improve site operations. As a Civil Engineer within our team, you could have the opportunity to:
Required Combination of Knowledge and Skill
BS degree in engineering or Bachelor's degree in a science related field from an accredited college or university and a minimum of nine years of relevant experience or; MS degree in engineering or Master's degree in a science related field from an accredited college or university and a minimum of seven years of relevant experience or; Currently or previously Shift Supervisor Part II qualified or qualified SIT and three years as EOOW in the Nuclear Operations Program or Current or previous CRE Qualification, or six years as SRE, or SRE qualified with nine years of experience

Pay Range
$105,600 - $158,400 annually

As a Civil Engineer within our team, you could have the opportunity to:
- Lead the engineering effort supporting maintenance, renovation, and repair projects for building facilities and infrastructure.
- Develop designs and contract specifications both internally and using subcontracted engineering and architectural firms.
- Support the bid and procurement process for construction, engineering field support for the construction phase, commissioning, and project close out.
- Prepare corrective maintenance documents to support facility and infrastructure repairs. This generally includes development of technical requirements including material lists, sketches, and cost estimates.
- Work with end users, compliance staff, operations staff, union trades and planning organizations to identify/plan/execute maintenance and repair strategies for facilities and infrastructure.
- Support a facility inspection program to establish existing conditions and develop strategic plans to address gaps in support of the site master plan.
- All positions at the Kesselring Site includes participation in the Site's Emergency Response Organization.
Required Combination of Knowledge and Skill

- Strong interpersonal and teaming skills and the ability to coordinate multi-discipline teams
- Strong written and verbal communication skills
- Familiarity with the development of construction specifications, drawings and cost estimates.
- Familiarity with the facility and infrastructure design.
- Familiarity with NYS Construction Stormwater permitting, wetland permitting and NEPA.
- Familiarity with NYSDEC Construction Stormwater General Permit requirements.
- Familiarity with appropriate engineering software computer tools
