The University of Virginia School of Nursing seeks applications to fill non-tenure-track, part-time Clinical Instructor or Lecturer faculty wage positions. We seek educators with clinical experience in the specialty areas of (but not limited to) pediatrics, obstetrics, psychiatric-mental health, community/public health, general medical or surgical specialty.

A Bachelor's degree in nursing is required.

A Master's or terminal degree in nursing or related field is preferred.

Applicants must be eligible for RN licensure in Virginia if applicable. Applicants who are eligible for Virginia nurse practitioner licensure; prescriptive authority and have national certification as a nurse practitioner are strongly encouraged to apply.

Two years of clinical nursing experience is preferred in one of the specialty clinical areas listed above. Teaching experience is preferred.

Responsibilities potentially include classroom lecturing but primarily will require the direct supervision of students in the clinical practice setting, along with evaluation of required written work. Candidates must have a strong commitment to teaching and mentorship.

MINIMUM REQUIREMENTS

Education:

PHYSICAL DEMANDS

Moving about while instructing and demonstrating skills to students; reaching, pulling, and pushing while demonstrating while using medical equipment; able to do repetitive tasks; remain stationary at a desk while typing; teaching in a medical facility setting for extended periods.
