Position Overview:
This position is for a System Engineer Architect- DevOps to support the FBI’s Information Management Division by applying information technology solutions to their business processes. The architect would be responsible for providing oversight and direction and must be hands on in implementing solutions. The architect will be expected to establish DevOps processes to provide O&M support and is expected to be a leader on the DevOps team. Responsibilities will include on-site O&M support. This position is part of a team and involves collaboration with and providing support to other team members.

This job operates in a professional office environment and has a noise level of mostly low to moderate. This role routinely uses standard office equipment such as computers, phones, photocopiers, filing cabinets and fax machines. This position is primarily indoors, consistent with a standard office position and has a noise level of mostly low to moderate. The incumbent is required to stand, walk; sit; use hands to finger, handle, or feel objects, tools, or controls; reach with hands and arms; talk and hear. The workload may require the incumbent to sit for extended periods of time. The incumbent must be able to read, do simple math calculations and withstand moderate amounts of stress. The incumbent must occasionally lift and/or move up to 25 lbs. Specific vision abilities required by the job include close vision, distance vision, color vision, depth perception, and the ability to adjust focus.

- Implement Infrastructure as Code to the best extent possible
- Implement and design the system with DevOps Support as a forethought.
- Identify areas of optimization in the system and provide guidance for addressing this issue.
- Adhere to good development practices: documentation, code standards, code/design reviews, optimization, and maintainability.
- Must be analytical, detail oriented and able to translate functional requirements into web-based solutions (i.e., web applications) using advanced technologies.
- Conduct automated unit and integration tests of product functionality following established testing processes or procedures.
- Research problems discovered by QA or product support and provide acceptable problem resolution.
- Research and identify new technologies and developmental tools.
- Perform other duties as assigned.
Work Experience, Knowledge, Skills & Abilities:
- Experience in Gov Cloud and SC2S.
- 5+ years demonstrated experience developing/architecting web applications.
- Strong problem solving and analysis skills, self-motivated, and able to work and communicate in a team environment.
- Able to communicate fluently in English.
- Requirements
- Education:
- Bachelor's degree or higher in computer science, similar degree, or significant software engineering experience (8+ years)
- Preferred AWS Certifications pertaining to Architect.
