Description

SAIC has an opportunity for a Cloud Engineer in Washington, DC! This position is hybrid and will require some onsite work at the customer's location.

Technical Skills & Knowledge
  • Cloud Services Expertise (Primarily Azure, but also to include AWS/GCP): Deep understanding of Azure services, including but not limited to Azure Virtual Machines, Azure Container Instances, Azure App Service, Azure Key Vault, Azure SQL Database, and Azure DevOps. The candidate should be proficient in managing and optimizing Azure resources, understanding Azure security best practices, and be familiar with Azure pricing and cost optimization.
  • Containerization Technologies: Proficiency in container technologies like Docker and Kubernetes. The candidate should have knowledge of containers/containerizing workloads, container images, Dockerfiles, and other associated technologies.
  • Infrastructure as Code (IaC): Experience with IaC tools such as Terraform/Azure Resource Manager (ARM)/Bicep templates. The candidate should be able to codify cloud infrastructure to allow for automated provisioning, configuration and management, facilitating infrastructure versioning, and repeatability.
  • Scripting and Automation: Proficiency in scripting languages such as PowerShell, Bash, or Python for automation of routine tasks, deployment scripts, and integration of various tools and services.
Qualifications

Required Education & Experience
  • Bachelors and 9 years; Masters and 7 years; may accept additional experience in lieu of degree.
  • Systems Administration: Strong background in system administration, including managing servers, performing software upgrades, patches, backups, provisioning user access, and ensuring system security.
  • Database Management: Experience with SQL database administration, performance tuning, backup and recovery, and security.
  • Problem-Solving: Strong analytical and problem-solving skills, with the ability to troubleshoot complex issues, analyze system performance, and implement solutions.
  • Communication and Documentation: Excellent communication skills and proficiency in creating documentation for system architectures, standard operating procedures (SOPs), and workflows.
Required Clearance
  • US Citizenship.
  • Active Secret clearance with the ability to obtain a Top Secret clearance.
Desired Qualifications
  • Certifications in Azure, such as the Azure Administrator Associate (AZ104) or Azure Security Engineer (AZ500), or equivalent certification in AWS/GCP.
  • Knowledge of FEDRAMP and NIST protocol.
