The CTO Service Virtualization Team at Vanguard is excited to announce our search for a Cloud Specialist to join our team, which is responsible for a best-in-class software suite that facilitates a scientific approach to analyzing application performance. Our Service Virtualization platform is essential for building confidence in the release-readiness of all Vanguard applications and services. This highly dynamic role in technical software development enables our consumers to conduct tests independently, eliminate testing bottlenecks, unlock cost savings, and enhance efficiency in the development lifecycle. This role provides advanced level technical support for complex projects. Troubleshoots, diagnoses, and resolves hardware or software issues that span multiple technology domains, as elevated from the team. Develops technical standards and documentation.

Impact:
  • Deliver features for our Service Virtualization product.
  • Build expertise in TDD, OOP, and CI/CD.
  • Develop domain expertise in Service Virtualization and Performance Engineering, with the ability to tune cloud-based architectures and provide guidance to product teams using our suite of tools.
  • Support client-driven testing efforts with our tools.
  • Establish a clear and concise documentation for our Service Virtualization product features and best practices.
  • Champion the scientific method testing approach.
  • Demonstrate professionalism and actively participates in code reviews.

Core Responsibilities:
  • Identifies, recommends, and implements high-quality software features.
  • Diagnoses and troubleshoots the most complex issues for cloud computing systems on multiple platforms. Maintains comprehensive technical knowledge of software and infrastructure platforms.
  • Adheres to department and Vanguard standards for acceptable application performance. Reviews those configuration parameters to optimize system performance and maximize uptime.
  • Troubleshoots and resolves the most complex issues elevated from our users. Provides guidance and consultation as required. Updates, writes, and maintains documentation for the department.
  • Performs systems analysis, including system requirements analysis and definition, and logical design.
  • Participates in special projects and performs other duties as assigned.

Qualifications:
  • Minimum of five years related work experience.
  • Undergraduate degree in a related field or the equivalent combination of training and experience.
