Job Summary

A Cloud Operations Engineer Level 3 typically focuses on improving our existing BAU processes and automation for software upgrade deployments, database restores and the delivery of client ready virtual environments.

The role requires a combination of technical skills (such as SQL Server, AWS, Azure Dev Ops and Powershell scripting) and other essential skills including problem-solving within our regular queue work as well as communication with both internal users and clients on live calls.

Responsibilities

Technical and Standard Practices
  • Manage and monitor all installed systems and infrastructure (Azure/AWS/LogicMonitor) and proactively ensure the highest levels of systems and infrastructure availability.
  • Liaise with internal team(s) and other personnel to address Infra/Product/Customer Access related problems.
  • Play an integral role in design, testing, and implementation of custom tools/applications that are relevant to the company needs.
  • Advise team members on performance bottleneck issues and procedures to ensure a consistent level of performance that brings value to our customers using our software.
  • Work diligently within our Incident and Request Management system (JIRA) to manage tickets from both our internal business users and our customers to provide value in a timely manner.
  • Implementing changes for our customer products and environments while complying with our existing Change Management policies consistently
  • Drive programs within the team to automate and improve documented processes.
  • Demonstrate consistent success with the fundamentals of Service Management and working within a ticket management system.
  • Work within our Azure Dev Ops system to run pipelines and processes that provide value to our business teams.
  • Participate in our critical incident response workflow and call bridges to help resolve issues for our existing Cloud customers in production.

Requirements

Technical Skills
  • AWS and Azure Management Expertise : In-depth knowledge of AWS configurations, settings, services and applications
  • Workflow Development : Ability to create complex workflows that match an organization's processes and practices.
  • Atlassian Products : Familiarity with other Atlassian products such as Jira Software, Confluence, and Bitbucket can be beneficial.
  • Scripting and Automation : Proficiency in writing scripts using Powershell
  • Database Management : Understanding of database concepts, query languages (e.g., SQL), and basic ability to interact with databases.

Education/Certifications

  • Education : A bachelor's degree in computer science, information technology, or a related field is preferred.
  • Certifications : Certifications such as ITIL 4 or other applicable certifications relating to AWS (EC2/S3) or Microsoft Azure
  • Experience : 4+ years of professional experience on SRE or Cloud Engineer role
