We have an exciting opportunity for a CLPS Business Specialist - Intern Program Coordinator to join our team with the Science & Exploration Division.

Objective:

NASA's Commercial Lunar Payload Services (CLPS) initiative allows rapid acquisition of lunar delivery services from American companies for payloads that advance capabilities for science, exploration, or commercial development of the Moon. The Specialist will support the CLPS Programmatic Deputy in managing the selection and recruitment of two undergraduate students during three different sessions (summer, fall, spring), totaling six students per year. Additionally, the Specialist will manage and conduct monthly meetings with vendor Points of Contact (POCs) and the CLPS Deputy, conduct monthly check-ins with students, and schedule exit interviews with students and the CLPS Deputy. The Specialist will also serve as the POC for the CLPS Internship Program, working with the CLPS Deputy on outreach strategy. A strong customer service skill set, and excellent communication skills are needed to enable effective communication with high-ranking officials within the U.S. Government and corporate partners. The Specialist will perform other duties as required.

  • Typically requires a bachelor's degree in a related field and 10 years of experience.
  • Prior experience successfully working with multiple customers and/or stakeholders in parallel
  • Excellent oral, written, and interpersonal skills
  • Must have excellent communication, presentation, and customer interface skills
  • Ability to manage and prioritize multiple projects
  • Ability to work on a team and lead tasks when necessary
  • Experience coordinating meetings and services across multiple organizations or groups
  • Requires experience with meeting and event support, including organizing and scheduling workshops, coordinating logistics, and facilitating attendees
  • Requires IT and conference room equipment operation to support hybrid meetings
  • Requires critical thinking skills to determine the best course of action in various and differing situations, including integrating highlights/critical points in meetings
  • Ability to develop innovative work ideas and work without specific tasks
  • Ability to identify concerns and gaps in information and communicate concerns to leadership in a diplomatic manner
  • Highly organized with attention to detail
  • Working knowledge of MS Office products including Word, Excel, PowerPoint, and Teams is required

Requisition Preferences:
  • A or BS degree in the appropriate discipline from an accredited college or university, plus three (3) years of appropriate and progressive experience; additional relevant education may be substituted for progressive experience -OR-
  • Requires two (2) years of college with courses in business administration, industrial management, or appropriate discipline, and six (6) years of progressive experience, or any equivalent combination of relevant education and experience
  • BA or BS degree in Engineering, Science, Business, or equivalent type of discipline
  • Experience working in the NASA environment is desired
  • Experience with NASA and/or NASA procedures and processes, NASA meetings, and milestone reviews
  • Experience in a Systems Engineering and Integration (SE&I) environment and/or engineering environment

Essential Functions

Work Environment

Generally, an office environment, but can involve inside or outside work depending on task.

Physical Requirements

Work may involve sitting or standing for extended periods (90% of time). May require lifting and carrying up to 25 lbs. (5% of time).

Standard office equipment (PC, telephone, printer, etc.).

Attendance

Regular attendance in accordance with established work schedule is critical. Ability to work outside normal schedule and adjust schedule to meet peak periods and surge requirements.
