Stepping into the Commercial Loan Officer I position will be an opportunity to work within the newest and fastest growing department within IAA Credit Union. Here, you'll be able to build strong financial relationships with new and existing members and their businesses. Being the first contact in addressing members' and applicants' small business loan inquiries, it will be up to you to know and provide information on credit union products and services in accordance with credit union policies and procedures along with State and Federal rules and regulations. This position comes with an enormous amount of autonomy and accountability. You'll be encouraged to utilize your creative juices and past experiences to deliver unique business loan solutions to our members that will bring exceptional value to their businesses. It will be up to you to interview loan applicants, uncover and mitigate risks, negotiate terms, price and structure loans appropriately, collect collateral, and recommend relevant, additional banking products. Upon loan application, you will work with our Commercial Lending Assistant and credit union partners to take the application through loan processing, underwriting, collateral evaluations, closing, and funding.

This position is based out of our corporate office in Bloomington, IL five days per week.

How does a Commercial Loan Officer make an impact?

• Generates new business loan production through consistent business development and relationship-building activities.
• Works within a team environment to meet or exceed established loan volume, income, cross-selling, and loan quality objectives.
• Serves as initial point of contact for credit union members interested in attaining a business loan and maintains open communication with members and outside vendors throughout the application and approval process.
• Calculates and secures accurate interest rates for business loans based on loan variables insuring fair pricing to the member and adequate income to the credit union.
• Establishes, maintains and strengthens business member relationships in order to grow a profitable business loan portfolio and meet member needs.
• Performs annual commercial loan reviews.
• Adheres to regulatory and credit union lending policies.
