The Opportunity

Delaware North Parks and Resorts is hiring part-time Communicators to join the team at Kennedy Space Center in Merritt Island, Florida. As a Communicator, you will work as a tour guide leading presentations and walking tours about the Rocket Garden, Apollo Saturn V, Atlantis, and other exhibitions at the Kennedy Space Center. This is an exciting opportunity to bring the NASA story to life for guests!

Responsibilities
  • Deliver Astronaut Encounter introductions including managing the questions and answers segment of each show.
  • Offer briefings and shows to educational field trip program participants and youth groups.
  • Engage families and small groups of guests by answering questions and initiating space related conversations throughout the exhibits and displays.
  • Research and maintain knowledge of past, present, and future space exploration information from approved sources.
  • Develop and maintain detailed program outlines and interpretation strategies for all presentations and shows.
Qualifications
  • Must be at least 21 years old to apply.
  • High school diploma or equivalent required.
  • Prior experience in researching and delivering educational presentations in an attraction setting preferred.
  • Current on NASA activities, rocket launches, and space events at KSC, Cape Canaveral, and worldwide.
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
  • Ability to interpret complex technical information confidently and effectively to visitors of varying ages and backgrounds.
  • Experience operating A/V devices such as microphones.
  • Good skills with Microsoft Office products.
Physical Requirements
  • Ability to stand/walk the entire shift.
  • Able to work outdoors in various Florida weather climates.
