Job Summary:

About the Role:



As a Compliance Analyst working in the Global People Solutions team, your work will focus on legislative and regulatory developments affecting employment and employee benefits around the world. You’ll play a crucial role in ensuring that our multinational clients are aware of changes affecting their business as employers and their people wherever they work by researching, writing, and providing timely and accurate information on those developments. You will work under the direction of the head of Compliance Consulting and report to the Director of Innovation, Compliance, and Intellectual Capital within the Global People Solutions team.



Core Responsibilities:



Research and Analysis:

  • Conduct legal research on employment law topics concerning statutory and supplemental employee benefits, including social insurance, supplemental pensions, health & welfare programs, wellbeing, fertility and surrogacy programs, and perquisites
  • Conduct legal research on broader employment law topics, including working hours, employment categories, statutory leave, non-discrimination, pay transparency, and rewards.
  • Interpret and summarize laws, rulings, and regulations related to employee benefits for use in various internal and external communications.
  • Stay informed about new legislation impacting workplace policies (e.g., paid sick leave, pay disclosure, background checks).
  • Use open source and other database resources to identify and research legislative developments
  • Liaise with Lockton offices and legal partners around the world to produce and validate information.


Consulting Support:

  • Assist the consulting and service teams with compliance-related projects and reviews for client-specific needs.
  • Develop resources and templates for consultants and clients to assist in understanding and responding to compliance-related developments.
  • Identify, review, and maintain policy templates related to employment, benefits, and workplace compliance.
  • Maintain and build relationships with legal partnerships for referrals.


Communication and Coordination:

  • Prepare compliance-related alerts, updates, and summaries for use by Lockton consultants and clients.
  • Coordinate with internal communications teams to ensure timely publication of global compliance news
  • Communicate effectively with clients, colleagues, and other Lockton compliance teams.


Requirements:

  • Bachelor's Degree in Business required
  • Two to three years' proven experience as a legal analyst, paralegal, international legal advisor, or similar role required.
  • Strong knowledge of legal terminology, principles, and employment law required.
  • Strong verbal and interpersonal communication skills required.
  • Excellent analytical and research skills.
  • Excellent writing and editing skills.
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite (Word, Outlook, Excel, and PowerPoint).
  • Proficiency in a second language is a plus.
  • Ability to travel by automobile and aircraft.
  • Ability to work outside of normal business hours as needed.
  • Legally able to work in the United States.
