What you do:This Compliance Specialist role will be responsible for leading and maintaining Allianz Life's compliance with privacy regulations, legal requirements and related company policies in support of ongoing efforts to protect customer, employee and agent data. The incumbent's primary duties include managing the; privacy training and communications, privacy risk management framework, second line of defense program, engagement with company privacy communities, and the design, implementation, monitoring, and updates of compliance programs. The incumbent will report to the Sr. Counsel, Privacy, Cybersecurity and AI, and take informal work direction from the Data Privacy Officer.

Key Responsibilities:The incumbent will have the following key responsibilities:
  • Design and implement scalable privacy programs to support emerging and evolving regulatory and group compliance obligations. Monitor programs to ensure continued compliance with applicable laws and standards. Execute regular program reviews and updates, continually developing programs to optimize effectiveness.
  • Maintain knowledge of privacy risk-management frameworks and testing based on industry best practices using inspection, inquiry, observation and confirmation techniques. Collaborate with business units to test privacy compliance with relevant laws, regulations, and standards against the NIST Privacy framework.
  • Implements privacy strategy through relationships and collaboration with liaisons and business units to provide subject matter expertise and influence an enterprise-wide approach to privacy management.
  • Ability to prioritize and manage multiple projects ensuring timely completion while adhering to compliance standards.
  • Identifies, researches, and resolves routine privacy issues independently.
  • Works on complex issues and mitigation of data privacy risks.
  • Actively engages business stakeholders to increase privacy awareness and compliance with applicable policies, processes, and laws through privacy communications, training content, and privacy awareness events.
  • Maintains current knowledge of applicable laws such as GLBA, CCPA, GDPR, monitors regulatory changes and prepares communications to internal stakeholders in response to regulatory changes and other privacy related events.
  • Monitors and tests data incident response program, including written policies and procedures.
  • Executes against the data incident response program to support the Data Privacy Officer and ensure a swift and coordinated response to privacy incidents. Manages post-mortem analysis of events and updates written policies and procedures as needed.


What you bring:
  • 4-5 years of financial industry or business experience, privacy focus, preferred
  • Experience in operationalizing programs, processes and procedures
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills, comfortable interfacing with all levels of stakeholders
  • Demonstrated ability to build strong relationships and act as a liaison with business partners
  • Ability to develop practical solutions and approaches to complex problems with keen attention to detail
  • Advanced organizational and time-management skills


Preferred qualifications:
  • Certification(s) in data privacy such as:
    • Certified Information Privacy Professional (CIPP/US)
    • Certified Information Privacy Manager (CIPM).
