General description

The Property Tax Assistance Division (PTAD) provides technical assistance to local governments and taxpayers on property tax issues but does not grant jurisdiction to intervene in local tax matters. PTAD is split into four areas, allowing the Division to offer technical assistance and implement statutory requirements in many innovative ways. The areas are outreach and support, education and communications, field appraisals, and data analysis. Apply to become a part of this great innovative Division. This position is an administrative position and will assist in planning, coordinating, and performing work in several staff services functions such as human resources, accounting, budgeting, purchasing, training, payroll, records management and property management.

This position may be eligible for a flexible/hybrid work schedule if certain conditions are met; working arrangements may change at any time as business necessitates.



Qualifications:

Education:

  • Graduation from an accredited college or university with a bachelor's degree.
  • Complete copies of college transcripts must be furnished to the divisional hiring representative at the time of the interview for positions requiring a college degree, and/or specific educational credits.


Experience:

• Four (4) years' experience supporting management level personnel with administrative and analysis work and confidential operational support.

Preferred Experience:

• Six (6) years' experience supporting management level personnel with administrative and analysis work and confidential operational support.

• Experience working in CAPPS financial and time accounting system

• Experience managing project budgets and related contracts

• Experience as a division liaison to agency support divisions including support services, budget and internal accounting, and human resources

Substitution:

  • One additional year relevant experience may substitute for thirty semester hours of educational requirement with a maximum substitution of 120 semester hours (four years).


Licenses/Certifications:

• A valid Texas (or state of residency) driver's license and a satisfactory driving record are a condition of employment.

• Applicants offered an interview must present the following documents at or before the interview: A state issued driving record for the last 36 months; valid Texas driver's license (or state of residency driver's license); and current proof of automobile insurance.

In this role you will:

• Serve as liaison with other agency divisions for staffing matters, including Human Resources, Payroll, Travel, Professional Development, and Support Services

• Prepare, review and maintain division job descriptions, interview questions, PRFs, and staffing memos; may prepare PAFs

• Schedules interviews and testing for posted positions

• Act as travel coordinator, training coordinator, and NEO coordinator with new Field Operations staff

• Maintain division WALT, Telework, LWOP, and cybersecurity/phishing policies and requests

• Maintains and tracks staff certifications and industry memberships; coordinates and registers staff for training and conferences
