Position Summary
Prof. Jeff Higginbotham in the Department of Communicative Disorders and Sciences is seeking a talented and passionate Computer Programmer to work closely with our research team on projects focused on improving communication for people with disabilities.

As a key member of our development team, you will play a crucial role in:
  • translating software designs and requirements into functional and efficient code
  • work on artificial intelligence projects, including but not limited to, programming of AI agents

Minimum Qualifications
  • Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Information Technology, or a related field plus a minimum of 3 years of programming experience (writing and debugging code in multiple programming languages).
  • Proven experience in writing and debugging code in multiple programming languages
  • Realtime Python on a raspberry pi
  • Strong understanding of software development principles and methodologies (e.g., Agile, OOP )
  • Excellent analytical and problem-solving skills
  • Ability to work independently and as part of a team
  • Strong attention to detail and commitment to quality
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills

Equivalent combination of education and experience will be considered in lieu of the degree requirement.

Preferred Qualifications
  • AI queries and training to support web apps
  • Progressive web app development for transfer of data from controllers to the web

Physical Demands
Salary Range $110,240
Additional Salary Information The salary range reflects our good faith and reasonable estimate of the possible compensation at the time of posting, the role and associated responsibilities, and the experience, education, and training of the selected candidate.
