Objective:
Establish and maintain the Configuration Management System (CMS) in alignment with the Quality Management and Information Systems. Lead the configuration management process for Seats USA business unit (SSUSA) . Plan, establish, deploy, and maintain the organization's Configuration Management System in compliance with Group and Seats Company (SST) Processes, the SSUSA reference system (QMS and other applicable rules), and the main configuration management system applicable to the business. In the intial term, this role will also support the configuration management deployment at SSUSA. Position works under minimal supervision.

Authorities:
This position has the authority and the right to control and command Configuration Management System activities and ensure compliance to the applicable defined company Develop policies, processes, practices and the defined objectives.

Main Function Responsibilities:
A) Continuously verify the consistency, performance and compliance of the CMS and report through a suite of key performance indicators.
B) Establish, lead, and improve the effectiveness of the change control process - maintaining roles and responsibilities for CCB leaders and team members.
C) Ensure standardization of engineering change across the organization and maintain alignment to group processes and procedures.
D) Prepare and produce configuration reports in accordance with project lifecycle requirements.
E) Monitor and analyze changes in the organizations environment (standards, customer/OEM) which may impact the CMS and develop solutions to improve processes in accordance with such requirements.

Travel specifictity
International and/or Domestic travel required; 5-10%

Additional description
F) Work alongside the Change Manager to enhance the current Change process, ensuring Configuration rules are adhered to, during the change process flow.
G) Support Program Managers as they develop their programs, ensuring local and global Configuration Management procedures are observed and complied with.
H) Support the implementation of a Windchill based PLM tool. Support relating functions to ensure that CM is effectively developed, applied as a solid foundation to the PLM system.
I) Review and analyze the performance of the CMS and deploy improvement plans to reduce the need for non-value added engineering change
J) Participates in the determination of the Configuration Items.
K) Participates and provides approval on Master Engineering Reviews (MER).
L) Responsible for establishing configuration baselines (BoM and V&V).
M) Performs other duties as assigned.

Candidate skills & requirements
Qualification Requirements:

A. Education & Qualification:
• Requires a minimum of a Bachelor's degree in a related engineering field such as Mechanical, Electrical, Mechatronics, Computer Information or an accepted equivalent or 6 years equivalent related experience in lieu of degree.

B. Work Experience - Technical knowledge:
• In addition to meeting the education requirement, requires an additional 10 years of experience.
• Level 6 CMII Certified or ability to obtain certification quickly
• Working knowledge of engineering documentation release and approval processes.
• User of CATIA V5 / SmarTeam (or other PLM systems).
• Aerospace or automotive experience with a knowledge of Digital Muckups (DMU).
• Knowledge of Boeing and Airbus specifications.

C. Professional Skills:
• Requires excellent communication skills that are needed to influence and convince other areas of new requirements or updates to current data
• Technical capabilities should include problem solving, root cause analysis, mechanical design practices & drawing standards, project management, and configuration management at a complex level.
• Ability to plan and think strategically and resolve complex problems.
• Must have the ability to generate written communication and to operate required office equipment.
• Ability to read and review written communication.
• Speech and hearing abilities that allow individual to communicate clearly and distinctly in English.

D. Behavioral Skills:

E. Desirable Aspects:
• Aircraft seating development experience
