Construction Inspector III

We are hiring a Constructions Inspector III to perform post construction inspections and re-inspections of stormwater management facilities (SWMF) to ensure compliance with City, State and Federal laws and regulations.

Duties and responsibilities include but are not limited to:

• Collect accurate SWMF/BMP and related stormwater data.
• Conduct environmental and stormwater BMP inspections using technical equipment.
• Conduct Physical inspections which may require pulling, lifting, or carrying equipment; opening and closing access covers for underground structures; and standing, walking, bending, crawling, and/or climbing over uneven surfaces including above ground structures with limited accessibility and to carry out assigned work in all weather conditions.
• Read and interpret construction plans and specifications applicable to SWMFs, Federal, State, and City ordinances, and Material Safety Data Sheets (MSDS).

Please Note: This position is ALPHA 1 and is required to work in excess of their normally scheduled days/hours during all inclement weather (flooding, hurricanes & snow), and/or in response to short-term department needs and/or City-wide emergencies.

• CDL Hiring Bonus - The $4,000 CDL (Class A or B) Hiring Bonus is for newly hired employees only. The bonus will be paid in three increments during the first year of employment.
• $1,000 with first paycheck
• $1,000 first pay period following six-month interim eval (with "meets expectation" performance rating)
• $2,000 at conclusion of probationary period (with "meets expectation" performance rating)
