Location

Our Kennesaw campus is located at 1000 Chastain Road NW, Kennesaw, GA 30144. Our Marietta campus is located at 1100 South Marietta Parkway, Marietta, GA 30060.

Job Summary

Manages renovation design/construction projects as the Kennesaw State University representative. With in-depth knowledge of University System of Georgia Board of Regents policy and procedure, delivers construction projects from the design phase through close-out. Develops project success criteria including developing budget estimates, schedules, and scopes as required to facilitate project decision-making. Assures completion of projects, compliance, and adherence to campus design standards, state regulations and building codes. Partners and liaises with University stakeholders and leadership as well as external consultants and contractors.

Responsibilities

KEY RESPONSIBILITIES:
1. Responsible for the oversight and management of small to medium design and construction projects
2. Develops comprehensive project charters, budget estimates, schedule drafts, and scope summaries to align project stakeholders and solicit appropriate approvals
3. Develops accurate and comprehensive Requests for Qualifications/Proposals to identify and select high-quality and appropriate consultants and contractors.
4. Manages and coordinates the work of consultant and contractor firms
5. Coordinates and conducts owners review of design documents and specifications
6. Analyzes and vets change orders, invoices, consulting agreement contracts, schedules, and budget estimates
7. Coordinates with Fire Marshal on project reviews along with inspections
8. Visits work sites and inspects projects to ensure compliance with specifications and standards
9. Drives personal and KSU vehicles to work sites and meetings

Required Qualifications

Educational Requirements
Bachelor's degree required from an accredited institution of higher education in architecture, engineering, contruction managment or a related field

Other Required Qualifications
Current, valid and unrestricted driver's license

Required Experience
Five (5) years of related experience

Preferred Qualifications

Additional Preferred Qualifications
Architectural or Professional Engineer license

Preferred Educational Qualifications
Advanced degree from an accredited institution of higher education in architecture, engineering, construction management or a similar field

Preferred Experience
Experience in higher education
Experience working within the University System of Georgia
Experience with wet and dry research laboratory construction

Proposed Salary

The budgeted salary range is $85,000 to $100,000. Offers are based on relevant experience.

Driving a KSU and personal vehicle is an essential function on this position, this requires a valid driver's license, and ability to successfully pass the required Motor Vehicle Record check, drug screen, and annual training and validation requirements

SKILLS
Proficient with computer applications and programs associated with the position (i.e. Microsoft Office suite, Microsoft Project, Adobe Pro)
Advanced knowledge and skill in construction project management principles and processes
Excellent interpersonal and communication (verbal and written) skills
Superior organization and time management skills
