The Department of Financial Protection and Innovation (DFPI) is recruiting for one Permanent, Full-time Associate Governmental Program Analyst (AGPA) within the Business Operations Office (BOO). Position to be located in the Sacramento office.

This recruitment may be used to fill subsequent vacancies of this position within the next 180 days.

Under the direction of the Staff Services Manager I, of the Acquisition Services Unit (ASU), the Associate Governmental Program Analyst (AGPA), Contract Analyst, independently performs the more responsible and complex analytical business services functions related to purchasing and contracting, program support and training, policy development, and preparing/analyzing reports.

Working Conditions
This position is located in the Sacramento office in north Natomas. The Natomas office offers FREE PARKING, is easily accessible from Interstate 5 and 80, and is close to various dining and shopping choices in the Natomas area.

Department Information

The Department of Financial Protection and Innovation (DFPI) protects consumers and oversees financial service providers and products. The DFPI supervises the operations of state-licensed financial institutions, including banks, credit unions and money transmitters. Additionally, the DFPI licenses and regulates a variety of financial service providers, including securities brokers and dealers, investment advisers, payday lenders and other consumer finance lenders. Desirable Qualifications In addition to evaluating each candidate's relative ability, as demonstrated by quality and breadth of experience, the following factors will provide the basis for competitively evaluating each candidate:
  • 6 months of experience executing contracts or procurements, and contract management.
  • 6 months of experience processing Procurement Contract and Purchase Orders in FI$Cal.
  • Familiar with use of State Contracting Manuals and the State Administrative Manual.
  • The ability to communicate clearly and concisely in writing and verbally with stakeholders, suppliers and managers.
  • Experience with MS Office such as Outlook, Teams, Word, Excel, SharePoint, Planner, and Adobe.
  • Ability to work in a rapidly changing environment, balance multiple priorities, and meet deadlines.
  • Experience analyzing, interpreting, and applying contract/procurement policies and procedures.
  • Knowledge and experience working with the State Accounting and budgeting processes.
