A small, well-respected law firm in Los Angeles, CA is seeking a part-time, remote Contract Civil Litigation Attorney to join their team! This is a fantastic opportunity for a dedicated attorney who is barred in CA and has a strong background in civil litigation, particularly in employment and business law, who desires a flexible, remote schedule where you can work from anywhere and set your own hours. You can expect to work an average of 5-10 hours per week, with the possibility of up to 20 hours depending on your work quality and the firm's needs. In this role, you will be directly involved in drafting motions, conducting legal research, managing case files, and defending complex employment and business litigation cases. Salary Range: $80 - $90 / hour DOE

Contract Civil Litigation Attorney Requirements:
  • Must be barred in California and have a strong understanding of California civil litigation procedures
  • 5+ years of experience in civil litigation, with a focus on business and employment law
  • Excellent legal research, writing, and analytical skills
  • Strong attention to detail, with a commitment to delivering high-quality work
  • Ability to work independently and manage multiple case deadlines simultaneously
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Word, Outlook, and Dropbox for document management
  • Strong communication skills, both written and verbal, with the ability to collaborate effectively with the firm s partners

Contract Civil Litigation Attorney Responsibilities:
  • Draft and review legal documents including motions, pleadings, and discovery responses
  • Conduct legal research and develop strategies for defending cases, particularly in employment claims like discrimination and retaliation
  • Manage and organize case files, ensuring all documents are properly filed and accessible
  • Prepare for and support the preparation of summary judgments
  • Coordinate and conduct witness interviews to gather relevant case information
  • Communicate regularly with the firm s partners to discuss case progress, strategy, and deadlines
  • Assist in managing up to 15 active cases, providing timely and quality legal support
  • Handle case assignments which may include preparing legal opinions, writing letters, and preparing for mediation or settlement discussions
  • Utilize Dropbox and Microsoft Office Suite for document management and communication
