Normal Work Schedule: Monday - Friday 8:00am to 5:00pm; some evenings & weekends required.
Job Summary: The Contract Specialist II ensures legal compliance with Alabama Public Works Law. Ensures compliance with federal statutes and regulations. Drafts contracts and develops efficient methods to process and execute contractual documents. Provides guidance and trains entry-level Contract Specialists.
Additional Department Summary: Oversees contract negotiation and compliance. Coordinates with Human Resources on personnel matters such as position descriptions, reclassifications and searches, FLMA, conflict resolution, and developing staffing plans to meet short and long-term goals for Enterprise Operations. Serves as resource for Enterprise Operations for communication policies and procedures regarding Marketing. Ensures that Strategic Plan is up to date, evaluated, and modified as needed. Oversees vending, cable television, residential laundry, wash & fold laundry and the Capstone Learning Academy.
Required Minimum Qualifications: Bachelor's degree and six (6) years of contract management experience; OR master's degree and four (4) years of contract management experience.
Skills and Knowledge: High-level of independent thinking.
Preferred Qualifications: CASP certification.
