Job Summary: The Grant and Contract Specialist I assists faculty and staff in the review and processing of sponsored project proposals and in the review and revision of sponsored project budgets. Ensures compliance with Federal, State, and Local government administrative requirements related to pre-award and/or post-award sponsored project activities.
Additional Department Summary: Assist faculty and staff in analyzing sources of sponsored support, in preparation and processing of applications and proposals for sponsored funding, and in pre-award and non-financial post-award administration of contracts and grants.
Required Minimum Qualifications: Bachelor's degree or higher and some experience in a business or legal work environment.
Skills and Knowledge: Demonstrated proficiency with MS Office Suite, including Excel. Customer service-oriented with the ability to work in a cross-functional team environment.
Preferred Qualifications: Approximately two years of professional work experience. Experience in the preparation and processing of grant and/or contract proposals and sponsored agreement administration is highly desired. Demonstrated knowledge of accounting principles, budget development and proficiency with database applications.
